Early Childhood Intervention

Our Early Childhood Intervention team provide specialised support and services for infants and young children with disability and/or developmental delay, and their families in order to promote development, well-being and community participation.

Aspire’s Early Childhood Intervention Service team work alongside young children and their families to support and assist parents and carers to help their child develop skills and abilities to participate in and enjoy daily life and understand the kinds of experiences which can assist their child’s growth and development.

Our early childhood years lay the foundation for all future development.  Our experiences at an early age shape our lives by affecting the way the young brain develops. What happens to us in our early years has a major effect on our health and social development right through to adulthood.

Our team deliver positive experiences which helps to support families to provide a good foundation for development.

Our centre, which is located at Charles Sturt University Thurgoona, has a team of:

  • Educators
  • Physiotherapists
  • Speech Pathologists
  • Occupational Therapists
  • Allied Health Assistants

Every child is different, so our team will work with you, your family and your child to meet your individual needs. Service can be provided in your home, your children’s education or community setting, or centre-based, wherever is the most suitable for you and your child. The team will work alongside you to offer evidence-based practices, the current research, equipment, and resources to reach the best possible outcome for your family.

Our team use a transdisciplinary Key Worker Model of service delivery. A Key Worker has specialist knowledge of child development and has experience in working with young children with developmental delays and disabilities. With support from other team members, your Key Worker will work in partnership with you and other caregivers. They will provide advice, education, and therapy to promote your child’s learning, development, and participation in everyday activities
